The following is a statement from EMILY's List President Ellen R. Malcolm on the death of Congresswoman Julia Carson of Indiana:
“Julia Carson was a grand warrior for her constituents and the nation and the EMILY’s List community is deeply saddened by her death. A fearless trailblazer, Julia defeated oppression with compassion and hope and broke down barriers with her tenacity and trademark humor. The EMILY’s List family is grateful for Julia Carson’s life of giving and service. She will be deeply missed.”
