Donna Edwards wins historic special election
Donna Edwards recently won the special election for Maryland’s 4th congressional district, defeating Republican Peter James with 80 percent of the vote. Edwards was sworn in June 19 and will serve out the remainder of former Rep. Albert Wynn’s term, who left office on May 31. She is the first African American woman from Maryland to be elected to Congress.
