Congressional program aims to help unemployed soldiers find work
While the struggling economy has affected the lives of Americans across the country, one particular group struggling to find work may surprise you: U.S. solders. For soldiers returning from Iraq, finding a job in these tough economic times can be difficult. That's why members of Congress, including one of EMILY's List's own elected women, Rep. Allyson Schwartz (PA-13), are working with the Wounded Warrior program to help soldiers find employment. Announced by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in March, the program was established to provide fellowships for wounded and disabled service members.
