EMILY’s List superstar, Congresswoman Gwen Moore of Wisconsin recently visited Rockford, IL to lend a helping hand to her EMILY’s List sister, Cheri Bustos, who is running for Congress in Illinois’s 17th district.

During the “Women for Bustos” event, Cheri and Congresswoman Moore discussed the importance of this year’s election for women who have been disproportionately affected by the harmful agenda of the Right wing, like Cheri’s opponent, Congressman Bobby Schilling.

Congresswoman Moore, who is the co-chair of the Caucus for Women's Issues, noted that women comprise only 17% of Congress, but are 51% of the country’s population. She reminded the women in the room, “If you’re not at the table, you’re going to be on the menu.”
