Update: Blunt running from his own history
By Hilary Nachem on 07/08/2010 @ 03:25 PM
Mr. Blunt, playing with history is like playing with fire; you are going to get burned.
Robin Carnahan's opponent, Cong. Roy Blunt has all the credentials to be an establishment Republican candidate - he is the former GOP House Whip currently serving his seventh term in Congress. And while he has no problem taking the GOP money hand over fist at his fundraisers, he's trying to sell himself as something other than that as he campaigns statewide in Missouri.
Just earlier this week, we told you about an ad Blunt's campaign had released that mentions every bit of his life story from his family farm to his education career, except for one gaping hole in his story - the over 30 years he has spent in politics.
Now we're seeing a second video with more of the same messaging. This one, shot around Independence Day celebrations details the time he spent teaching in Missouri -- but still no mention of those seven terms in Congress.
Why is Roy Blunt so ashamed of his record? He should be proud to say that he stood with the GOP, voted against health care, and supported the failed policies of Bush.
I guess he sees danger in the facts.
