On Sunday, Pete Hoekstra aired an ad during the Super Bowl against his opponent, EMILY’s List candidate Sen. Debbie Stabenow. With the wordsmith skills of a clever 10 year-old, Hoekstra used a play on words, changing Stabenow’s name to Spend-it-now.

Last week, Susan G. Komen for the Cure made the now infamous decision to cut its funding for Planned Parenthood. We, along with activists across the country, were outraged, and demanded that Komen restore funding for the critical breast cancer screening services that Planned Parenthood provides for women.

You would think that an organization dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer would do everything in its power to make sure that women have access to cancer screenings and mammograms. But apparently that isn’t the case.

2012 marks a momentous year for women in politics. This year, we have the opportunity to rise above the GOP's attempts to set women's rights back and turn 2012 into Women's Historic Year.

I know the power of women firsthand. My mother fled from abuse and overcame discrimination, all while building a family and an honorable career in public service. Her example, her leadership, and her focus provide much of the drive behind my own commitment to public service. This election year I am thrilled to be one of a record number of extraordinary women that EMILY's List is supporting for Senate.

Time to board the Allen West crazy train. While speaking at a Lincoln Day Dinner in West Palm Beach for the Palm Beach County GOP, Rep. In this heated election cycle, there are no more important issues than job creation and economic recovery. EMILY's List women are leading the way in providing real, concrete solutions for economic growth and putting Americans back to work.

I walked away from NARAL Pro-Choice America's dinner with an emotion I didn't expect -- a sort of warm-bodied fuzziness, coupled with a stand-up-and-fight style of motivation. Because the stories shared in that room, of women unable to obtain basic health services, either because of cost, draconian legislation, or simply the region of the country where they live -- I couldn't help but be as committed as ever to the goal of protecting a woman's right to choose. But that's not even close to the whole story of the people in that room.

On the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, I woke up before dawn. I pulled on my thermal shirt, laced up my running shoes, and headed out the door. I pounded the pavement along Rock Creek Parkway, sweeping up and around the Tidal Basin and onto the National Mall. When I got to the Mall, I stopped to watch the setup for the "March for Life," the annual anti-choice rally.

I confess that I greeted the coverage of the revelations coming out of Marianne Gingrich's ABC News interview with perhaps more glee than I should have. The sheer juiciness of watching the man pander to conservatives in South Carolina while tales of his flagrant, unapologetic marital chutzpah dominated the news made me smile. But I should have known better:
