But, one of the biggest things she taught me was to vote. She was a young married woman with young children before she could cast a vote. It was very important to her. When I turned 18, she made a big deal out of it and insisted on going with me to the Board of Elections to register. She told me not to squander my vote as many women gave a whole lot for my right to vote.
