We received a great campaign update from Morgan Callahan, the GOTV director on Joan Buchanan's campaign today. Buchanan is running in the CA-10 special election to replace Ellen Tauscher. Read on for an on the ground update from California, including campaign pictures and Joan's new TV ad.
California's 10th congressional district is certainly full of momentum! With Joan's Vote By Mail program in full swing and her new TV ad up, each day is a leap closer to putting Joan in Congress. We've reached out to hundreds of thousands of voters at the doors and over the phones. We've mailed Vote by Mail applications and collected them. Once they get their ballot, we chase them - making sure Joan's supporters are turning in their Vote by Mail ballots immediately.
We're getting great feedback from the voters about Joan. "Joan Buchanan is the only candidate for Congress with a track record of working to improve our schools. We need her in Congress to stand up for our kids!" says Bill Pence, a teacher from Orinda. And Marshall Kamena, Livermore's mayor thinks Joan understands her district best. "Joan knows our community and visits often. As our state Assembly member, she led the effort to recover $2 million in annual sales tax revenue for Livermore."
With an aggressive final 5 days planned right before the election, we'll dial and knock for Joan; chasing remaining applications and ballots district wide right up until the polls close on September 1st. Each voter here has a chance to turn around our economy by voting for Joan as she is the only candidate in the race who used her financial skills to turn things around in both private and public sectors.

Exciting news in CA-10, where we've just announced our endorsement of state Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan in the special election to fill the open seat of Ellen Tauscher.
After Tauscher was nominated for under secretary of state for arms control and international security affairs, Joan announced her bid for the seat. Joan is a progressive leader with years of experience making real change in California, and we couldn't be more thrilled she's decided to run.
We're just off the heels of Congresswoman Judy Chu's special election earlier this month in California, so we're ready to hit the ground running for Joan. The primary election is set for September 1, so it will be full speed ahead for the next few weeks!
