Carly Fiorina: Bad for women, jobs, and California

By Lisa McIntire on 08/25/2010 @ 12:00 PM

Carly Fiorina, who was fired from Hewlett-Packard after a disastrous tenure as CEO, now wants to use her $21 million golden parachute to land in Barbara Boxer’s Senate seat. This critical race is alarmingly close: recent polls show Fiorina leading Boxer over the margin of error. Barbara’s voice in the Senate has been among the Senate’s most powerful, but her consistent advocacy for women and choice is in danger of disappearing if Carly succeeds. As such, we’ve put together a little primer on Fiorina’s catastrophic career, her atrocious record on jobs, and her deeply anti-woman, far-right views.

Boxer fights for us - now we must fight for her

There is no time to waste in supporting Barbara Boxer’s re-election campaign: just recently, the well-known Cook Political Report ranked this Senate race between Boxer and Carly Fiorina as a ‘toss-up.’ It boils down to this: Barbara is vulnerable, and it is critical that she gets the resources she needs to protect her seat. The GOP is practically salivating over the possibility of ousting her, which means we cannot let up until she is re-elected in November.

Anti-choicers make bold move to "educate" California Latino voters

By Hilary on 07/27/2010 @ 05:07 PM

Tags: Barbara Boxer, 2010 Elections, CA-Sen, SBA List

The conservative Susan B. Anthony List just won't let up their attacks on pro-choice Democratic women candidates, and in California, they're putting their money where their mouth is to push a regressive, anti-woman agenda. To the tune of $100,00, they're launching a Latino "voter education" effort to sing the praises of failed CEO and tea partier Carly Fiorina, who's trying to unseat Sen. Barbara Boxer.

We are seeing the ripple effect of Sarah Palin's influence in races where EMILY's List women and Democratic candidates are fighting hard to win seats in November. Over the weekend, Palin's operatives filed a financial report indicating that in the past three months, she has raised more money than in any other quarter since forming SarahPAC in January 2009 and has already given $87,500 to her endorsed candidates.

Fiorina/Feinstein a better combo for CA? I don't think so

By Jeanne Duncan on 07/01/2010 @ 09:22 AM

Carly Fiorina is really grasping at straws in her race against Senator Barbara Boxer. On a trip to Washington, D.C., Fiorina told a group of reporters that she will be a better partner for Senator Dianne Feinstein than Boxer. "They disagree on virtually everything," Fiorina said. Feinstein, Boxer's campaign chair, quickly noted that there is no daylight between the two pro-choice Democratic senators' voting records, reiterating that "California needs Barbara Boxer in the Senate, now more than ever."

Sarah Palin may have given Fiorina her seal of approval, but the facts don’t lie. That’s why we’re standing with Sen. Barbara Boxer to make sure she has the resources to let California voters know their choice at the polls couldn’t be starker.
