Sutton fights against increasing credit card rates
By Emily on 10/31/2009 @ 03:21 PM
We’re always so proud when we see stories like these about our candidates.
When Betty Sutton saw a news story about an Ohio family in her district that unfairly had their credit card rates hiked, she took action. Because of her work on behalf of Chuck and Jeanne Lane, the couple will now be able to afford surgery and college for their son.
But Betty is not just fighting for the Lanes. She recently introduced the Credit Card Rate Freeze Act, which would stop credit card companies from raising their customers’ interest rates before a February 2010 law stopping the raising of rates goes into effect.
Thank you, Betty for working to stop these unfair changes in a time when it is the last thing that many American families can deal with.
