EMILY's List
Alex Sink steps ahead

We've had a great week here at EMILY's List and the excitement hasn't stopped yet. We were thrilled with the results of a new poll showing Alex Sink leading BOTH Republican candidates for governor.
These numbers are great news! But the work is far from over. It's a tough race and Sink's competitors aren't letting up. For just the week leading up to Tuesday's primary, Rick Scott spent more than $5 million on broadcast and cable television alone.
It is so important for strong women with the best interests of us all to serve in office – and as Florida's Chief Financial Officer, Alex is definitely a strong woman! Her Women's Week of Action reminds women in Florida (and everywhere else!) that their support, participation and votes are essential for a win come November. She's spent the week bringing women across Florida together, participating in happy hours, house parties and community service events like Backpacks of Hope and Dress for Success.
We can't afford to let candidates like Rick Scott or Bill McCollum win in November. Their backwards, right-wing policies would turn back the clock on crucial advancements in women's rights.
This month marks the 90th anniversary of a momentous win in the battle for women's rights: our right to vote. So come on ladies, roll up your sleeves, get involved and help put Alex in the governor's seat.
