She's not on our team.
There is a growing trend in the national media of talk about how 2010 holds potential to be another "Year of the Woman." EMILY's List and its members are fighting tooth-and-nail to ensure that the pollsters, the pundits, and especially the people at the polls know there is an ENORMOUS difference between our team of women and the motley crew assembled by Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann.
I have many words - mostly of frustration and disbelief - for these GOP women, but there is one in particular that has left me absolutely speechless as of late. If you haven't heard about Sharron Angle, that might because she's been spending her days since winning the Republican nomination in Nevada "running from cameras" as the New York Times reported.
Well, before all the national attention someone managed to catch a hold of her, and I'm quite glad they did. It's apparent that Angle's views on choice are a throw back to the stone age. She's opposed to abortion in all scenarios -- including cases of rape and incest.
Check out this Salon post (with audio) and judge for yourself. Does Sharron Angle speak for American women?
She's not on my team.
