It seems to be that today is the day the GOP has decided to let their candidates off the reservation.

Earlier this week, during an interview with Hotline OnCall, Dino Rossi - Republican challenger to EL Sen. Patty Murray - told the reporters that he doesn't mind he is getting into the race late. He knows that many Washingtonians have already realized what we've known for quite some time, that Patty Murray is the best woman for the job -- but that doesn't matter to him.

But, nevertheless, we were still taken back to hear this coming out of Rossi's mouth:

"In the old adage, there are saints and sinners and those who can be saved. The saints are with us, the sinners are not. And the ones that can be saved are the ones we will be talking to,"

Yes, you read that correctly. Dino Rossi thinks that everyone who supports Patty Murray is a "sinner". And, just to be clear – the “saints” with him are folks like Big Oil, Wall Street, and special interests. Well, to channel a great American singer -- I'll keep running with Patty's dangerous crowd. Any of Rossi's misguided attempts to show us the error of our ways won't be changing my mind any time soon.

We always knew that when Rossi announced he was going to challenge Patty, things would get... interesting. The day before he announced his campaign for Senate, Rossi was a featured speaker at a seminar teaching investors how to profit from foreclosures. Federal authorities are investigating his campaign supporter, who is now under investigation for running a $100 million Ponzi scheme.

Patty is an experienced legislator and the highest ranking Democratic woman in the Senate. Over this past year, she was one of our critical soldiers in the battle for health care reform, building coalitions with other pro-choice Democratic women senators to eliminate egregious gender disparities in insurance coverage. Patty stood up for us then, click here to help her campaign now.
