Right-wing group launches attack ad against Giffords

A newly formed Tucson group, the Conservatives for Congress Committee, went up with an attack ad this week against two-term Cong. Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-08).
It's no surprise the GOP is bent on ousting Gabrielle this fall -- and they're willing to do whatever it takes to win back this seat. After becoming the first Democrat to represent this district in 20 years, Gabrielle has established herself as a thoughtful House member committed to serving her constituents and willing to take tough votes to do what's right -- but in such a challenging political climate for Democrats, it's going to be a tough fight to hold this district.
Here's what Jonathan Parker, EMILY's List political director, had to say:
"We're not surprised to see the same old tricks from Republicans," said Parker. "Their plan seems to be 'we can’t beat 'em on the issues, so let's attack' -- here and in lots of tough races. That's why it's so important our women are ready to defend themselves against these kinds of attacks, because it's only going to get worse."
