The Republican challenger to Cong. Mary Jo Kilroy seems to have no problem pocketing Wall Street money hand over fist.

Just last week, on the same day that Wall Street reform passed the Senate, he reported raising over $100,000 from the financial industry and bank lobbyists in the previous quarter.

And judging by his schedule this week, he's not looking to slow down any time soon.

Steve Stivers, himself a former banking lobbyist, has traveled to Washington today to make sure the gravy train keeps flowing. This afternoon, he will be sitting down to lunch with GOP Cong. Spencer Bachus, the ranking Republican on the House Financial Services Committee, and guests who paid up to $5,000 to attend. I wonder what the topic of conversation will be? Hard to imagine they're going to spend a lot of time discussing how to best fight for the needs of Ohio's families.

With his close network of special interests financiers, Stivers has out-raised Kilroy so far this season and keeps his war chest in reserve. Kilroy is going to need all of our help in fending off this challenger so that she may continue her battle for consumer protection and corporate accountability.
