Elaine Marshall has picked up speed since her primary win last month and is edging ahead of incumbent Sen. Richard Burr in North Carolina. The latest poll has Marshall leading Burr 37% - 35%.

Sen. Burr ranks high on our list of the many out-of-touch Republicans -- you may remember his comment during the financial crisis, when he told his wife to "go to the ATM machine, and ... draw out everything it will let you take."

This afternoon, our President Stephanie will be seeing Elaine and some of the great online progressive voices at the Netroots Nation Convention. With the buzz of this breaking poll news, there will be plenty to talk about.

Keep up the great work, Elaine!
