PHOTOS: First day of the 112th Congress

There's no doubt we face challenges as the 112th Congress convenes, but there is also reason for celebration. All of you helped elect a strong group of pro-choice Democratic women to fight for us, including four new women of color in the House, and it was a thrill to have them sworn in yesterday.

My few hours spent with our elected women reminded me of the long hours and dedication of our public servants. My feet could barely keep up with the pace at which these women move -- and today was just day one.

I was honored to walk the halls with some of our newest members of Congress and join our devoted veterans in the evening. Below is a slideshow from my day on the Hill: enjoy!
