Palin's 'feminist' attack on Democratic women
By Emily on 05/17/2010 @ 11:43 AM
What attracts Sarah Palin's ire quicker than a wolf from a helicopter? Why, Democratic women in Congress!
Palin sure has been making the rounds lately -- promoting her latest book, riling up "grizzly bear moms" at right-wing events, and dropping endorsements for far-right candidates around the country. And, while she's certainly got one eye on boosting her name for a 2012 presidential run, she's also clearly focused on another goal: making sure our pro-choice Democratic women don't win this November.
Politico did a piece today with a headline that says it all: "Sister Sledgehammer: Palin takes aim at Dem women." Included in her sights are EMILY's List freshmen Cong. Betsy Markey (CO-04) and Debbie Halvorson (IL-11), along with Missouri Senate candidate Robin Carnahan. And, adding insult to injury in my opinion, Palin is claiming her actions are of a "feminist" nature I sure don't recognize -- part of her vision for an “emerging conservative feminist identity."
While Palin's busy attacking our women and bolstering GOPers like Tea Party favorite Cong. Michele Bachmann, we're determined to provide our women with the resources they'll need to fight back -- and keep their seats this November.
