EMILY's List
NPR's take on MO-Sen

Ah, word choice. It really tells us everything, doesn't it?
Take, for example, the words NPR selected to describe GOP MO-Sen candidate Congressman Roy Blunt: "Conservative Washington insider." "Well-funded." "Ample contributions...from Washington lobbyists."
What'd they have to say about EMILY's List candidate Robin Carnahan? That she's in for a tough race, and she's traveling the state to make her case for voters. They also noted that Robin's "a marathon runner and a licensed pilot" -- but that's just fun to point out.
Now, that's not to say NPR didn't highlight the challenges and opportunities faced by both campaigns. We just think their description of Blunt was pretty telling.
Some of you may know already, but I'm a Show-Me State native, and I've had the opportunity to see up close what Robin's done for Missourians -- and I know she's part of a family legacy of public service.
NPR did a great job highlighting what this race comes down to: in one corner, an effective, proven leader raised on a Missouri farm with an impressive record of service; in the other, a member of Tom DeLay’s inner circle with a family of lobbyists and a record of standing up for big business.
Makes for a pretty obvious choice, doesn't it?
