There's been a steady stream of important news on our candidates this week, and I wanted to make sure you didn't miss it. A few highlights:
- Sarah Palin, who's already got rifle scopes aimed at four of our pro-choice Democratic women on her map of targets, is weighing in on the race of another EMILY's List candidate, Cong. Debbie Halvorson (IL-11). Yesterday, Palin endorsed a GOP challenger in Debbie's race, Adam Kinzinger. Attacking Debbie for her support of health care reform, Palin is working to mobilize her followers for Kinzinger -- and spell major cash for his campaign. Debbie is counting on us to help her fight back! Click here to make a direct contribution to Debbie today!
- Diane Denish, who's running for governor in New Mexico, is leading in the polls against five of her potential Republican challengers! Currently serving as the state's lieutenant governor, Diane has the experience and plan New Mexico needs to move forward -- but these early polling numbers won't mean smooth sailing to victory. Diane's opponents still have plenty of time to boost their name recognition and the GOP's nominee is sure to have the full backing of the party for the general election.
- EMILY's List freshman Cong. Dina Titus (NV-03), whom we helped elect last year, is making the rounds in her district to help her constituents understand the benefits of health care reform -- especially for women. As the Las Vegas Sun pointed out in an article today, women face numerous obstacles for getting quality, affordable health care -- and health care reform aims to change all that. Thanks to Dina, we're on our way!
