A mom awakening? Guess again, Sarah.

Sarah Palin released a web video this morning and it's begun making the rounds. She's trying to sell the "Mama Grizzly" brand to women across America as if it were the next 'lose ten pounds in ten days' fad diet. The video features clips of Palin on her recent speaking tour interspersed with photographs of women at tea party rallies across the country set to a narration from her recent speech on the swell of "pink elephants" to the anti-choice Susan B. Anthony List.

The SBA List and the Sarah PAC have backed candidates from shore to shore. In Wisconsin, state legislator and EMILY's List endorsed candidate Julie Lassa is running against the former reality TV star turned "Papa Grizzly" Sean Duffy to replace retiring Rep. David Obey. On the West Coast, Carly Fiorina is nearing our Senator Babara Boxer in the California race. But they're not just running against our women. Senate Majority Leader Reid faces a challenge in his Nevada Senate relection campaign from SBA-endorsed Sharron Angle -- the woman that runs from cameras and would like to set reproductive rights in America back decades.

The Sarah PAC video stood out to me, because it is an attack on all of the work women that came before us have done to open those doors and crack the marble ceilings. Sarah says, "There's a mom awakening in America...a lot of women coming together." But can she honestly believe women in America as having been apolitical for the past two centuries?!

Personally, I know this is wrong -- many of my political beliefs were defined in conversation with my mom over the dinner table, and my grandmother volunteered for President Franklin Roosevelt's then New York gubernatorial campaign -- before she was even old enough to vote!

Working at EMILY's List, I know there is a rich history of women working and fighting for the policies that better their families, their daughters, and the future of America. I know that 25 years ago Ellen Malcolm and a group of activist women started something that forever changed the landscape of American politics, for the better. And, I also know there were crusaders a hundred years ago that fought the establishment to bring something they had only dreamed of to the next generation of women in America: the right to vote.

But, I guess that Sarah Palin has forgotten all of these things? Does she honestly believe that the mothers of America are JUST NOW waking up? Com'on Sarah, show us a little more substance and a little less hook.

The midterm election season is gearing up and we've seen that Grizzly Sarah has the network to raise significant cash for her endorsed candidates. Now is not the time for our side to rest -- EMILY's List and its members are at work each day to keep the women we've helped elect in their seats and to grow their ranks. Click here to help us ensure that our team of women are constantly prepared with the resources to fight back and stand up for what we believe in.
