EMILY's List
Kilroy delivers for main street

Last night, EL Cong. Mary Jo Kilroy and House Democrats took leaps forward in enacting the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Mary Jo was one of two freshman House members to be selected to represent the entire body in this bicameral delegation. As a member of the Financial Services Committee, she authored and fought for the inclusion of provisions which aid consumers, investors, and small businesses while holding greedy special interests accountable for their actions. It's no surprise that the banking lobbyist turned GOP politician challenging Mary Jo, Steve Stivers, has been working to derail this legislation and continues to grasp at straws to sling mud at Mary Jo.
With leadership from Elizabeth Warren and Speaker Pelosi, Democratic women like Mary Jo continue to fight against failed policies of "too big too fail" banks of Wall Street. We couldn't be prouder.
Hear for yourself in this video from Speaker Pelosi's press conference on the historic achievement last night just how much Mary Jo is doing for American families.
We'll be watching closely in the coming days as our Senators are expected to take this vote and put the legislation before President Obama for his signature.
