Giffords collects record-breaking number of petition signatures

Cong. Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-08) is always going above and beyond -- fighting for our troops, leading the way on renewable energy, and working to expand access to education. Now, she's making a habit of besting herself in a new arena, collecting a record number of petition signatures to get on the ballot this fall.
Gabrielle has already broken the record (twice), but she likes to go all out. And, of course, her ability to receive signatures from all across the 9,000 square miles of Arizona’s 8th district is a testament to her widespread support.
Her campaign manager, Michael McNulty, put it best:
“She has a record of challenging ‘politics as usual’ in Washington and standing up for what is best for Southern Arizona. District 8 has chosen its representatives based on who they felt would provide the strongest leadership and best service for Southern Arizona, and they are saying clearly that Gabrielle is that leader.”
