EMILY's List
Fiorina/Feinstein a better combo for CA? I don't think so

Wha?
Carly Fiorina is really grasping at straws in her race against Senator Barbara Boxer. On a trip to Washington, D.C., Fiorina told a group of reporters that she will be a better partner for Senator Dianne Feinstein than Boxer. "They disagree on virtually everything," Fiorina said. Feinstein, Boxer's campaign chair, quickly noted that there is no daylight between the two pro-choice Democratic senators' voting records, reiterating that "California needs Barbara Boxer in the Senate, now more than ever."
EMILY's List helped elect both Boxer and Feinstein in 1992, and they’ve been a fabulous team for California on a number of issues, including reforming the nation's health care system, protecting the environment, strengthening education, and reviving the economy. And both are fully committed to protecting reproductive freedom -- something Fiorina, with her endorsements from the National Right to Life, the Susan B. Anthony List, and Sarah Palin, decidedly is NOT.
Notably, Fiorina told the same group of reporters that she opposes any kind of ban on the sale of automatic weapons. Feinstein, who was on the scene when San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk were fatally shot, wrote the assault weapons ban which was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1994 and expired during President George W. Bush’s first term in 2004.
Fiorina's assertion is not just an overstatement, as she later conceded, but patently false. According to Boxer, she and Feinstein have voted the same 90% of the time. If Fiorina replaces Boxer in the Senate -- something EMILY's List is working very hard to prevent -- she would be at cross-purposes with Feinstein, not in sync. And that would be very, very bad for Californians.
