Congresswomen Shea-Porter, Pingree, and Tsongas take on General Petraeus

We wanted to make sure you saw Tom Andrews' recent Huffington Post piece on three EMILY's List women we're very proud of, Congresswomen Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01), Chellie Pingree (ME-01), and Niki Tsongas (MA-05).

These three women, all members of the House Armed Services Committee, stood strong to hold the U.S. military accountable in Afghanistan during the committee's meeting with General Patraeus this week.

Here's some of what Cong. Pingree had to say:

"Since the surge of troops in southern and eastern Afghanistan started, we have seen only increased levels of violence, coupled with an incompetent and corrupt Afghan government. I am of the belief that continuing with this surge and increasing the level of American forces will have the same result -- more American lives lost, and we will be no closer to success."
