Judy Chu wins in CA-32!

Judy Chu is headed to Congress! After winning last night's special election in California's 32nd congressional district, Judy will follow in the progressive footsteps of her predecessor, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, when she gets to Washington.
We're obviously thrilled about Judy's win here at EMILY's List, but we also have another reason to celebrate: Judy becomes the 80th woman we've helped elect to the U.S. House of Representatives! When we were founded 24 years ago, only 12 women were serving in the House -- we've come a long way!
More from the LA Times:
State Board of Equalization member Judy Chu has won the special election for the 32nd Congressional District seat to become the first Chinese American woman in the House of Representatives.
With 100% of the ballots counted, Chu, a Democrat, had 62% of the vote in Tuesday's election for the San Gabriel Valley-based seat vacated when Hilda Solis became U.S. Labor secretary.
