Activate your list, the Rolodex has gone virtual!

Back in 1985, a person's power was measured by the weight of her Rolodex.
It's been 25 years since EMILY's List founder Ellen Malcolm gathered a group of Rolodex-carrying friends in her basement to start building a network to help elect more pro-choice Democratic women to office.
Things have changed since then. EMILY's List now has more then 460,000 members, and a smart phone, not a heavy Rolodex, is the new power tool. But we still need the help of EMILY's List supporters like you to build our community.
There are also a lot more women serving in office, thanks in large part to the power of the EMILY's List community. But, this year, a lot of those women -- including Barbara Boxer, Patty Murray and Mary Jo Kilroy -- are under attack, targets in the Republican offensive to gain seats and take back Congress. Pro-choice Democratic women running for office around the country are up against well-funded GOP candidates who'll do anything to win.
The Republicans are intent on winning big this November, and they've got Sarah Palin, Karl Rove, and the Susan B. Anthony List making sure that it will happen. But, they don't have EMILY’s List. That why it's more important than ever to flex our apps -- and build the power of the EMILY’s List community so that we can fight back and win.

If we continue building, we'll be able to stand up to the Republicans with more determination than we've ever had before.
