Assistant to the Majority Council Director
EMILY’s List, the nation's largest financial resource for women candidates, seeks an Assistant to the Majority Council Director.
Principal Responsibilities
The Assistant to the Majority Council Director works out of the Washington, D.C. office as part of the Major Gifts department to support 2-3 senior fundraisers based in the field. The Assistant to the Majority Council Director acts as the D.C. office liaison for these field fundraisers, making sure they have access to all available departmental and organizational resources and support. This position also helps to plan and execute EMILY’s List regional and national events, and assists with other Major Gift or organizational projects as needed.Specific Duties
- Conduct daily check-in calls with the field fundraisers you support to assess immediate donor contact and fundraising needs;
- Help compose, format, and send donor correspondence on behalf of field fundraisers;
- Construct and manage donor lists from regional territories for outreach and fundraising;
- Help plan and schedule meetings, make logistical arrangements, and arrange travel and accommodations for field fundraisers;
- Manage and serve as point of contact for one of the primary donor databases used by field fundraisers;
- Track and reconcile income, and ensure that it is entered correctly into donor databases;
- Produce monthly income and donor reports;
- Work with Major Gifts team to coordinate and arrange logistics for regional and national fundraising events;
- Help create and update materials for donor meetings and events;
- Create and maintain donor materials and correspondence templates for the field fundraisers you support;
- Collaborate with other organizational staff to ensure fundraising materials are up-to-date;
- Collaborate with organizational staff on database management;
- Conduct regular check-ins with Deputy Director of Major Gifts;
- Serve as lunch hour and break phone relief for front desk as scheduled or requested;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate must be organized; able to work on a team and with staff in the field; able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment; and show very strong attention to detail. Previous experience working with a database is strongly preferred. College degree and an interest in electing pro-choice Democratic women required. Salary is competitive.
