EMILY's List's Political Opportunity Program (POP) had plenty to celebrate this week, following big wins in the primary elections in Illinois. All three of our endorsed POP candidates -- two in state House contests and one for state treasurer -- won their primaries and are headed on to the general election this November.

They say nothing is so admirable in politics as a short memory -- and that must make former Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. one heck of an admirable guy. Ford, who moved from Tennessee to New York and is mulling a primary run against Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, seems to have developed convenient amnesia about his once-firm views on a number of issues as he talks himself up as a potential primary challenger to New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
